John Silver Biography

 My name is John Mbugua Kimani (john silver art Name) I was born in 1973 In Thika Kenya.  

I started art when I was in primary school. After I finished my school I joined the collage in Nairobi for mechanical Engineering. I was later employed in as mechanic and I worked for only one year in 1999.

2000 I started a project called Rhino care art project, in Mukuru slums where I train single parented children as well as the disadvantaged in the slums. I also help street children in Ruiru town, and I am currently taking care of 12 street kids.

                Nominations

2000 I was nominated among the best 12 Kenyan artist, for the French Cultural and co-operation centre Calendar 2000, Nairobi 

2002 Prince Anderrz Emmt Delila collected my art, which is now in the longhouse collection in Canada.

2005, Vitoria and Albert museum London selected and awarded for the best in PRINT maker in East Africa and I was the prize winner and my print is in V & A collection.

               Exhibitions

I have done many Exhibitions in Kenya and in Europe.  Netherlands the exhibition that is going on in the city after city. Belgium which now going on in Rotterdam. Group Exhibition in V&A Museum in UK, Ramoma Museum of Art , National Museum of Kenya Nairobi and in Mombasa Lamu, French Cultural Center in Nairobi , La Rustique .Etc .
 

I am the print maker teacher in Kuona Trust and peer Educator.

The Nike Free 5.0 imitates being barefoot. The trail version has fewer grooves for flexibility than the 5.0, but is nike free 3.0 still extremely flexible. It comes with a schedule to build up your time in the shoe as your body gets used to the extreme flexibility. Walkers more than runners need a flexible shoe to puma store allow the foot to roll through a step. The upper is comfortable, suede-like, and designed to nike free shoes move with the foot. The shoe feels great, they are cheap nike shox now my preferred shoe for wearing all day long. Most important for me, it doesn’t irritate my bunion. The trail version lacks the nike shox netting at the back of the heel that everybody rips with the 5.0, a big improvement. However, I’d be reluctant to nike shox take these suede shoes out on an actual trail, I would think they would rip easily and pick up debris.
