Studios at Kuona Trust

Kuona Trust provides space for artists to work and meet other artists, curators, critics, collectors, students, researchers and other art supporters.

Kuona trust offers subsidized private and communal studio space for both local and international established and emerging artists in central Nairobi. The studios support a community of around 30 artists who share ideas and skills and support each other’s artistic practice.

The studios are open to the public  days a week and as well as making work, artists participate in exhibitions, workshops, discussions, presentations and some teach private or group classes.  Selection for the studios is by committee and on an annual contract.

Kuona has an excellent library with a wide range of over 1,500 art and design books and three computers with free internet access for all artists and a canteen that provides good quality, inexpensive food for artists and visitors.
